October 9, 201015 yr Most of the talk of Thai women being lured abroad with offers of legitimate work and then forced to work as prostitutes is nonsense that the western media like to spew out so I wouldn't worry about that. Advance-fee fraud is definitely an issue though so make sure she doesn't hand over any money upfront

October 9, 201015 yr Even though the company may be legit, that doesn't mean the job offer is. Any way she can meet someone else from the company, or verify that the woman offering her the job is actually from the company?
October 9, 201015 yr Since her employer is a Thai national, it's perfectly understandable that she would want a secretary who can understand her own language. It seems to be a bona-fide Thai-Tanzanian company by all accounts and there is a big market for gemstones in Thailand after all. I don't personally think it's a scam for that reason.
