Can anyone recommend a good proxy server? I hear that the free online ones are not that good and best to subscribe to a service. I prefer one with IP's in the U.S. or lets you choose.

PM me if you want. Thanks.

Hi,

I guess you mean VPN?

http://www.witopia.net/welcome.php

Pretty happy with it, especially since they have now loads of IP to choose from now: plenty in UK, US, in Europe (Paris, Amsterdam, Madrid...), in Asia (Singapore, Malaysia, HK...). Convenient to watch the TV player from different countries

Only drawback is that they block access to Piratebay, Isohunt etc.

Just a reminder of this forum rule: 9) Not to discuss proxies or other methods of bypassing government blocking of websites.

Pinned topic Proxies & VPN information.

Post removed for linking to an anonymous proxy server.

Those rules are made by people with no knowledge...

Proxies and VPN is just normal ways of doing things in the corp world of networking.

The discussions here is not about bypassing government rules.

Next they will forbid you from discussing bread and butter because you surely use knives in combination with bread and butter and knives are known to be used in various criminal activities...

You might actually read the pinned topic link I posted before making comments like above. It explains in details the various proxy technologies and their purpose and TV's stance. The OP did not state his reason but experience with questions like this has shown that it is normally to get around blocks using anonymous proxies. As such, a preemptive caution was put in place.

I read it afterwards instead and it didn't change anything... It didn't add anything that I didn't know before except possibly the level of the punishment for breaking ruler and regulations.

I think it is still wrong to forbid discussions about VPN and proxies and it will always be wrong to judge a person without knowing and just assume he will or have done something wrong...

You said you read my pinned topic but yet you still are making inaccurate statements. Here, I'll re-post the pertinent section on VPN since you seem to have selective reading. Note that it is not forbidden to discuss VPN or certain types of proxies.

If a topic is asking how to use VPN to get around MICT or getting the best porn without being caught or downloading TV shows, then the topic is in violation of forum rules and the law and will be closed. However if one is asking what the best VPN software or service then that is a valid question.

Anonymous proxies are the main issue. BTW, the post I deleted with a link to an anonymous proxy server - it was blocked as are many anonymous servers in Thailand are so obviously the Thai government is not too keen on them being used. My caution was for members that may not be familiar with the rules on this. As I have already mentioned, several years experience on this forum has shown the vast majority of topics on proxies are for bypassing the government blocks.

I have explained myself and Thaivisa policy on the subject and see no purpose to continue in this vein as it's becoming repetitive.

Since the OP appears to be aware of this issue as he stated "PM me if you want" I'm closing it.
