(BNO NEWS) -- United States National Security Advisor General James Jones will be announcing his resignation on Friday, administration sources told BNO News. The announcement will be made by President Barack Obama during a Rose Garden ceremony with Jones and deputy national security advisor Tom Donilon, who is expected to replace Jones later this month. The announcement will be made at 1 p.m. EDT. The reason for Jones' departure was not immediately clear, but follows a series of resignations in the Obama administration. Dennis Blair resigned as Director of National Intelligence in May, followed by Robert Gates' announcement that he plans to retire next year.
