JOHANNESBURG (BNO NEWS) -- Dozens of people have been injured after a passenger bus was involved in an accident in South Africa on early Friday evening, emergency officials said.

The accident happened on the N3 highway on Van Reenen's pass, near Windy Corner where the Free State and KwaZulu-Natal provinces border. "A report has been received that approximately 50 people have been injured," Chris Botha, a spokesman for Netcare 911, told BNO News.

Botha said a truck and a passenger bus had collided on the highway and said paramedics were still responding to the accident.
