As Malaysia passport holder, I can admit to Thailand without applying any

visa and etc for a stay period of 30day.

However, anyway that I can extend to another 10 days to 40 days?

I will stay in Bangkok .

Thanks for ur advice... urgently...

Your correct in what you say that Malaysian citizens are allowed a 30 day stay without a visa however this is dependent upon you having an onward ticket within this period.............if your ticket out of Thailand is after the 30 day period you may not be allowed to enter Thailand (more strictly enforced if you fly than come overland).

If you intend to come for 40 days i would advise you to apply for a tourist visa at the local Thai Consulate in Malaysia this will cover you for 60 days................you would have to pay 1900 baht for the 10 day extension anyway and you would be relying upon the individual officers descretion to grant the extension.

Sorry thaiflyer1 but to my understanding malaysian passport holder won't need an onward ticket when arriving in Thailand. And for the extra 10 days that the OP required, he/she might just do a one-day border run for it.

National MALAYSIA (MY) /Destination THAILAND (TH)

THAILAND (TH)

Passport required (recommended to be valid 6 months after

period of stay. However, Thai Immigration will accept passports

only valid for period of intended stay).

Visa not required for a touristic stay up to 30 days, if

holding confirmed return/onward ticket. Extension up to 10 days

is possible. Fee THB 500.- (1 photo required).

If holding APEC Business Travel Card together with passport:

visa not required.

Entry may be refused if of "hippy" appearance.

For more information see: For details, click here .

Airline staff may travel on standby ticket together with an

airline-identity card.

Visitor must hold all documents for next destination.

If being over 12 years old, visitor must also hold sufficient

funds (e.g. letter of credit, vouchers, MCO's or well-known

credit cards) to cover stay (not applicable if holding re-entry

visa).

Non-compliance with the visa regulations will result in:

- refusal and immediate deportation of passenger;

- fines for the airline of THB 20,000,-;

- overstay fine for passenger of THB 200,- per day.

:o ...........my info says it is required (about time they updated the extension fee though)

We assume that the OP arrives by air. Int this case the airlines do want to see a return- or outbound ticket or a valid visa. Thus the rules quoted by thaiflyer1 certainly are correct.

How strict the airlines do check on this is another question. My personal experience, about 50/50 but be prepared to buy a ticket,otherwise you might be boarding denied.

To arrive overland in LOS is another story and the MFA does not specify the ticket requirement, but the need to show Baht 10,000 per single traveller.

:o was i lucky or they forgot to check any of the requirements listed everytime i arrive here in Bkk.

Well, to be honest as a Malaysian passport holder, i have never been questioned of my onward tickets or the THB 10,000 mentioned. Niether was i ask of my duration of stay in LOS.

Perhaps, the OP should just follow the stated rules posted by the members here :D just to be safe.
