Mr Kenny's Sahataya Naval Insignia and Certificate.

PHUKET: -- Phuket resident Brad Kenny, a long-time member of the Rotary Club of Patong Beach, recently received the prestigious Sahataya Naval Insignia and Certificate from the Royal Thai Navy.

The award ceremony, held at the Royal Thai Navy Convention Hall in Bangkok, was followed by a special lunch in the VIP lounge.

Mr Kenny was awarded the honor for his participation in 63 Navy Community Relations (“Comrel”) and Handclasp projects over the past few years.

The projects typically see visiting US servicemen visit local schools and foundations, where they do repair work, make donations to needy local children and other charitable works.

Together with his fellow Rotarians, Mr Kenny has served as a key liaison between the US Navy, US Embassy and their Thai counterparts in organizing these events.

The American, a father of three, has run water treatment firm Environmental Solutions & Protection (ESP) Corporation on the bypass road northbound in Rassada since its opening in 1999.
