Download Speed

Featured Replies

I am on a LAN 512/512 connection

When I download using Free Download Manager I rarely get speeds exceeding 10KB/s; though I could get 50KB/s from some sites

I tried pluging the cable to another system and the download speed is 25Kb/s using IE 6

There can't be anything wrong with my notebook since I can get 300+KB/s speed when downloading from another location ( a 10MB connection)

When I use the built in downloader from one browser, the connection often breaks

Where should I start trouble shooting ?

I downloaded VMware 104MB and got a speed of 56KB/s; if the download speed is dependent on the server then Google is indeed a disgrace; I download Chromium every hour and cannot achieve more than 3KB/s

Download speed can be very different according to the location where you are (quality of tel lines, number of people connected on the same internet line by your provider...)

I have this problem when I visit Kuala Lumpur but not in Bangkok
