Me and my wife are due to go back to Thailand in November, it will be the first time we've been back since we got married! My question is, I was booking flights the other day and noticed a Departed Stamp and Landing Card in her passport. She is Thai and has a Thai passport so why are they there, is this normal ? or is it because she left Thailand with a UK Fiance Visa ??Are people usually stamped in and out of their own country ??

It's standard for Thailand.

My wife (when she was my gf) has also been questioned IN Thailand as to why she was travelling to Singapore. She was quizzed more leaving bangkok than she was getting in to Singapore!

When Thai passport holders leave Thailand they fill out a TM 6 form, the departure section is kept by immigration when leaving and the arrival section is stapled into the passport to be taken by immigration when coming back (arrival).

Basically it is the opposite process that is used for foreigners.
