When I receive the paperwork from the language school to take to consulate for an Ed visa. How long is the paperwork good for. Do I have to go within a certain time frame in order to activate the visa?.

How long is the school giving you the paperwork for the visa for? ie 6 months or a year? What date do you intend to start the course? The visa starts the day the embassy stamps it in your passport.

A visa will normally have a 90 day validity. Only if the visa is a non immigrant multi entry would it be valid for one year.

Thanks everyone. It is the time I have between picking up the paperwork from the school here in Thailand and then going to the consulate in K L that i am really interested in at this time. How long is allowed before the paperwork becomes out of date?

Believe only KL can answer that question as it would be up to them and might vary from officer to customer on perception of intent. Obviously fresh paperwork would be normal for such a visit.
