When To Transfer Money For Retirement Visa

Recommended Posts

I have a Non Immgrant Multy entry O Visa It expires April 26 2006. I will be 50 on the 25th of March and want to apply at that time for the retirement Visa. I have the required funds in a US bank and want to know if I transfer the funds to my Bangkok Bank account now will there problems or should I wait until say Jan or Feb to do so I do not want to wait until the last min to do this if I do not have to.

Also when I go to the Bank and have them give me the Required letter stating the funds will they also give me a form stating that the funds were indeed Transfered in from My US account ?

Many Thanks

You can transfer the money anytime prior to your visit during the last 30 days of a 90 day entry to request the extension of stay. I would have them provide you a photo copy of the transfer document for first time but it is probably not required as you do provide copies of bank passbook and the FTT notation next to the deposit from Bangkok Bank tells them what they want to know. The letter normally just provides your account balance at the end of the current or previous business day. Just be sure to have the requirement amount still in the account. :o

Not for money transfer but for application for retirement extension of stay you should not have more than 30 days remaining on a 90 day stay. Sometimes immigration will allow earlier applications when all paperwork is immediately available but they normally would like you to make the application during the last 30 days of a permitted stay.
