Supernova
I'm going to try a program called GOM since I hear it allows you to speed the subs up and down as req'd. GOM is a decent player... What bothers me about GOM is that it connects to the internet and downloads codecs and filters it does not have. Regardless however, I still recommend it over VLC. If you haven't tried The Kmplayer, you might wanna give this versatile player a chance. (Just don't forget to uncheck the 'AskToolbar' during installation). The Ask Toolbar infects your browsers by default with the GOM installation too. Thankfully you can uninstall it and gom still works. What bothers ME about GOM is it doesn't let you double-click to full screen or mini-screen like you can do with VLC, MP, Winamp and well, pretty much every single other media playing program. Why wouldn't they include such a basic function for GOM? Anyone know if I can toggle this on or something? It's one of those things you never really miss until it's gone, but I need it! CrankyCarrot
PS Gom seems to do the job nicely. One thing I noticed watching a movie last night, was that if the file is split into two parts the subs file won't pick up where the other one left off. The easiest fix I could see for this was to use an avi file joiner app to combine the two avis into one. Then the subs ran fine along the whole fillum. lomatopo
I was half expecting "Inception 2: The Totem Stops Spinning" to be released before you got this sorted out. Any chance you can answer your original question? Where did you get the subs? For which films? How do you know they're any good? Now if we could just get English subs for Thai movies. CrankyCarrot
Hey Lomatopo, Yeah, it was taking a while, eh. Anyhow - I thought I'd mentioned it before but maybe not - the subs I've gotten have all come from thaisubtitle.com So far I got them for Inception 1, where the totem spineth forever perhaps, and Predators. I've played these two movies with the subs and verified that they made sense and all with about three dif thai people. I also grabbed the subs for Indiana Jones, but unfortunately my thai friend hates Harrison Ford, for reasons still unclear to me.. so that was off the menu. PS I can't believe there's no subs on that site for Ghostbusters or Back to the Future. Thai people must learn of Marty McFly and his plight. If anyone knows where I can get those subs, a link'd be much appreciated.
