How Can I Go To Cambodia To Get A New Tourist Visa?

Recommended Posts

Hello guys,I got a problem, my 3 month tourist visa gonna expired within 20 days and I don't wanna go back to my country cuz it'll cost more. Can I just go to Cambodia and make a another new 3 month tourist visa there and back to bangkok?

How can I do that? Is there any agency in Cambodia do this kind of service? I've heard that just 1-day travel and back to bangkok.

and the cost will arould 2000 bahts total something?

Please guide me thanks!!

The one day trip is just a border crossing and you would only get a "visa exempt" entry of 15 days. Anywhere you go for a Tourist Visa, is most likely going to require at least a one night stay over.

It appears Jack Golf offers a Tourist Visa run, 3 days/2 nights, and looks like the price is around 5,000 Baht for that.

Do you mean vientienne , laos?

2x2 months? I dont need that long, just 2 month plus one moth extension later is fine for me..

how much would be that? and is that just 1 day return or should I stay at night?

In Vientiane, normal schedule is to submit application in the morning before noon, and pick up your passport the next day in the afternoon. The Thai visa is free, but you would need to purchase a Lao visa, the price is dependent on nationality. Several topics have been posted, you can do a search for travel and hotel information.

So I need to stay one night in laos. If I go with some travel agency in bangkok, should they arrange everything for me? how much approximately should I pay for them totally?

Try this company;

www.thaivisarun.com

They will lug u 2 Lao, get the visa(s) (Lao visa and the tourist visa you want for thailand too! Which is BTW; free now!!), hotel, food, travel, everything is included 4 just 1 price.

The guy who owns the company has had his business run this trip so many time’s it is not even funny. Easily hundred’s of times..

And NO I am NOT affiliated with that company, I've just sent all too many people to him in the past. ..

I know “Jack’s Golf” does some squirelly thing where you stay at the casino on the Aranyaphratet/Poipet border in Cambodia and they ‘run’ your passport to Phnom Penh, but I’d rather keep my passport with me, where ever I am. ..

Just as an aside: WHY did the poser <sic> errr poster known as “RudieTheFoodie” submit his post THREE frickin’ times? Never refreshed his screen, or wanted to get his message across? ???

And YES other posters are saying go to Vientiane Lao PDR, believe me it’s FAR easier than Cambodia B) . ..

And FWIW: the Lao people are pretty darned friendly too!

Try this one, it's a report for the Pinned Topic on obtaining visas in the region, and as I suggested before, you can use the search function to find other visa run information regarding Vientiane or Cambodia.

If you have to be holed up somewhere for 2 days I would far prefer to be in Pnohm Penh Cambodia (have been to both). Hotels in PP are cheap and good quality, so are the bars (beer at $1) and varied food. Same goes for the more obvious form of entertainment - stunners, many, knocks Thailand into a cocked hat IMHO.

Air Asia from BKK is cheap and quick ($60 each way if cabin bag/laptop bag only).

Is Cambodia less easy to get a Thai visa than Vientianne though? I don't know the answer to that.

Both places are easy and both places require at least a 1 night stay IF u get to the embassy in the morn ( not possible if u fly air asia to Phnom Penh)

Boht places have inexpensive hotels ( $15-25) and good local food

Overland i would imagine PP, ( at least 8 hours travelling) is closer than Vientine, ( no idea travelling time) and also both countries require a visa ( at least $25)

There is plenty of info onall forums just do a search,.

Hi Live.

Listen man - you don't need a tour company, just do it (like nike) :)

saves you a load of money, and it's a lot more fun.

:)

the problem is i never been to Cambodia or Laos, it's quite unfamiliar for me. I am worried about getting cheated or something

I guess it's will be more safer to go with a tour company.

Good idea, get cheated up front. Then you won't need to wait for it or worry about it. Only a thousand first time tourists from 18 to 80 travel from Thailand to Cambodia every day, but it may be too difficult or nerve racking for you. You worry too much................

I am sure you can only get 15 days on a border run. If you fly out you will get the 30 days when you come back. Book airasia. www.airasia.com to Cambodia it very cheap. No need these tour companies they rip you off. Siam Reap is a city were very old Cambodia buildings very worth seeing.

If you enter with a visa you get the visa permitted to stay regardless of how you enter. The question is about a tourist visa, not a visa exempt stamp. There is organized land visa service to Cambodia for this with person staying in Cambodia a night or two. I do not believe the large visa services rip anyone off as a rule for normal visa service as competition keeps the costs reasonable.

I am Chinese, can I 100% sure get a 2-month tourist visa?

so if I fly to Cambodia with Airasia, after I arrive, where should I go ? by a bus or taxi ?how many days should I stay in there? totally have no idea, if someone could hook me up a detailed process with schedule , i'd appreciate it !

yes now I am holding a normal 2-month with another 30 days extension tourist visa.

yeah I wanna believe that too, the visa service company will not rip anyone off... so could you recommend me some good visa services company please?

the cheapest way is to get a bus to Trat from Ekamai station, costs ~200B and takes 6 hours. Then from Trat u get a minibus to The Koh Kong border station (1 hr) ; just make sure u get there before 8pm closing time. Then you pay 1200B for a 30 day tourist visa but if you're smart you'll already have an evisa from http://www.mfaic.gov.kh/evisa/

then it's a tuk tuk over the bridge for 100B and you'll find yourself in the thriving metropolis of Koh Kong. From there you can travel onto Phenom Penh or better still there are places who'll send your passport to the Thai embassy in PP and return it to you for a modest sum. rememeber the TV is free. You can stay in Koh Kong for a few days while waiting. What to do in KK? You can go up Old Kent Road.

....you don't need to bother with parasitic agencies.

The 30 day Tourist/evisa is to enter Cambodia - there you can apply at the Thai Embassy in Phnom Penh for your 60 day extensible Thai Tourist (TR) Visa
