Extension Of Stay From Oa

My friend is on and extension of stay from OA. the reentry permit expires Jan 31, 2011. How soon can they apply for the extrension of stay. Its a matter of getting some papers from an U.S. Embassy outreach rather than going to BKK! I heard you can go up to 30 days early and they give you 1 year from the the old reentry permit expiry date.

YES to the 30 days early. Immigration will give you a 1 year extension of stay from the current extension expiration date, not from the old re-entry permit date (although both dates should be the same).
