Featured Replies

The list came out and Thailand is in the top 100! I know people always dispute rankings but have a read and then comment if you like.

Here is the link: Linky

I did not look for an article specifically about Thailand, the general news articles gave the number 1 country (Norway) and then a smattering of other top countries.

Top 15 countries

1. Norway

2. Australia

3. New Zealand

4. United States

5. Ireland

6. Liechtenstein

7. Netherlands

8. Canada

9. Sweden

10. Germany

11. Japan

12. South Korea

13. Switzerland

14. France

15. Israel

And who says the present government is not making progress.Tell the opposition to put that in their pipe and smoke it.

I saw this the other day. Interesting info...but it is more related to human development:

The Human Development Index (HDI) is a comparative measure of life expectancy, literacy, education and standards of living for countries worldwide. It is a standard means of measuring well-being, especially child welfare. It is used to distinguish whether the country is a developed, a developing or an under-developed country, and also to measure the impact of economic policies on quality of life.

What I found interesting is how low China ranks. Pretty poor for a country aiming to be #1 in the world, economically...maybe they should invest some of their money in these areas?

Probably fairly accurate ratings as long as you do not consider the role that climate plays in quality of life. As for me, I would agree with the top four with the exception of Norway which is far too cold . Looking at the UK in the number 26 postion and one of the lowest in western Europe, I can understand why Thailand has so many Brit expats. Thailand in the 92nd position is probably fairly accurate but only if you do not consider the availability of pretty women and warm climate in computing quality of life. Since I do consider girls and climate very important quality of life issues, IMHO I would rank it a much higher.
