PM Abhisit Orders Probe Into Kickback On Thai Flood Aid

MP Sa-nguan Phongmanee claimed ...

Does he have any suggestion of evidence, or is it good enough to be just be able to "claim" it to get an investigation into it?

He's following the jatuporn model, lies, untruths, more lies and more unruths. Long-term it won't do much for their credibility.

This kickback crap happens all the time. It's widely known among the Thai's. It was also widely reported during the Tsunami down south. Made front page news. People dispensing the relief money were asking for 25% or so of what was handed out. If you didn't sign the paper saying you got the full amount, they gave you nothing.

It's just the way things are here. Kickbacks are part of every major project in Thailand. Good for Abhist for trying to get this stuff stopped. At least he is trying and not just stirring things up, like Jatuporn. I've yet to hear anything good come out of that guy's mouth for sure.

But how much different is this from hurricane Katrina in the US. Fraud was rampant. Disaster relief funds were used for all sorts of crazy stuff. Same with funds delivered after 9/11, which were supposed to be used for shoring up security, but were eventually used for all sorts of crazy projects.
