Hi, For the last few years I have been traveling to China 3 to 5 times per year to study Chen Style Tai Chi with a teacher in Guangzhou. As I have no one to practice with here in Chiang Mai, I have been focusing on forms and exercises that don't require a partner. I would like to change that focus during my next trips to China and therefore want to meet other interested persons to train with on an informal basis. Preferably someone(s) living in Chiang Mai long term, and has practiced Tai Chi before (any style is OK with me) and has some experience in Tui Shou (pushing hands) and other exercises/techniques requiring a practice partner. I have some experience with Tui Shou, Chin Na (joint locking, grappling) and two-person Chan Si Gong (silk reeling) drills, but my skills in these areas are very rusty these days. My next trip to China is in late December. If I have a practice partner here in Chiang Mai, I can come back from China with enough material to keep us busy for months. I would also be willing to teach what I know, free of charge, to anyone reasonably serious about learning the art. I study the Xin Jia (New Frame) variant of the Chen style. I am certainly not a master of the art, but my fundamentals are solid and I would be comfortable teaching the following: -Tai Chi fundamentals - stances, relaxation, breathing, etc. -20 or so Chan Si Gong (silk reeling) exercises -13 movement introductory Chen style form -83 movement Chen style 1st form (Xin Jia Yi Lu) - For most people this form will require a multi-month commitment Anyone who is interested please send me a PM. I live off the Mae Jo road, around the corner from the Rimping supermarket and would prefer to practice somewhere around that area. Cheers
