On Friday I am embarking on my B Visa run to Phnom Penh. The educational Department wrote a letter to the Embassy there and my school is preparing the documents. I, however, am broke and trying to do this the cheapest way possible. I have to be out of Thailand on the 12th and am taking a bus to Poipet Friday but due to work can't leave until 12. I think I have to spend the night there. My apologies before hand, this entry is going to be filled with questions....

Does anyone know if spending the night in Poipet is safe? I keep reading horror stories online!

I read that I can find a bus to PP for fairly cheap but they only leave early in the morning. Does anyone know if one leaves at night?

Also, and this is my most pertinent question. How much is a B Visa in PP and is there any hope of them processing it in one day?

Also, any other advice on how to avoid scams and find cheap food and shelter would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance for any words of wisdom you throw my way.

How about taking the train? I've done it a couple times and it's perfectly fine. I's only about 50 something baht. At Aranyaprathet it's only 40 baht to the Poipet border. Don't let the tuk tuk driver stop before getting to the border to take care of your Visa it's a scam. The train leaves Bangkok at 1300 and arrives arount 1730. I think you could find a cheap guest house in Poipet no problem. I've only been there in the daytime but it seemed like a normal Thai town, not dodgy or dangerous.
