paulfr
Just got my Corolla Altis. Waited 3 months for it. Wonderful machine. But it has this annoying little problem. I hit the door lock button as I get out. All doors do lock. Then I slam the drivers door shut, but the door is now unocked. I have to rehit the lock button, then pull the handle as I close the door to lock it. Annoying. Is there a mode setting to allow this that I can modify ? Or is this now an industry standard to prevent locking without intent ? Also, the lights in the car do NOT come on when I open the door at night. The dome light is set on Door, not On or Off. Thanks fellas

Thanks fellas my gues is that you are talking about the lock button on the remote keyfob?....pretty sure the has to be closed already before you press the button. for the interior light....if it come on when you move the switch on the lamp to "on" then the switches in the door pillars are at fault. otherwise its the bulb. it's back to the dealer in the morning for you!!! let them sort it out!!!! warranty !!!! customer service!!!! good luck!!!! Thetyim
I have to rehit the lock button, then pull the handle as I close the door to lock it. I thought that was standard for all cars . Doesn't sound like a fault to me. The interior light I agree is faulty. If it is only one door with the problem try fiddling with the door switch they sometimes do not earth properly, if it is all doors then it is probably the light unit or bulb or fuse. Crossy
I NEVER slam-lock my car, I've locked the keys in once to often. Lock it with the blipper or the key. Meanwhile, holding the handle up is normal lock procedure to prevent (well reduce anyway) accidental lock outs. Your instruction manual will tell you all about it RTFM. Does the dome light come on in the 'on' position, no - check bulb or fuse, yes - talk to your dealer. Edited August 7, 2005 by Crossy
paulfr
Your instruction manual will tell you all about it RTFM. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The manual is in Thai. They wanted 550THB for the English version and had none in stock. Silly for them not to throw one in on such a large sale. This was very surprising to me as the service otherwise was top notch. So I have to struggle a bit until the manual is available.
