HowardB
Hi everybody I want to do some interior painting, particularly ceilings. Can anyone suggest a brand of paint and is it available in most hardware shops? The location of a good hardware shop in Chiang Mai would also be helpful. Thanks Howard
garyh
Can't recommend a brand but Global has just about everything.
jackr
I wouldn't say it matters that much on brand for interior, but never go the bottom of any brand... cheap paint picks up dust and fades. I generally stick with ICI Dulux for in and out as it last a lot longer and goes on well. For ceilings, Jotun Ceiling Paint is pretty good and well priced. It's an off-white (which is what you want)... the Thais call it 'kwanburi'. Any of the biggies do paint: Global (inner, south) Home Mart (super [both sides], northeast) Home Mall (outer, northeast) HomePro (super east and hangdong road). HomePro generally more expensive that the rest.
NewLookIPD
TOA has a nice DuraShield for a real strong high white. If you go with Jotun, make sure it's not Strax - Majestic Matte is well worth the higher cost. Also, adding a few drops of burnt sienna (you can get a craft store) will make the white go on homogenously and keep you from pulling your hair out. Good luck!
