thaiyaioo
From the city, follow all road signs for Doi Suthep (Route 1004) At Phucome Hotel (intersection of Route 1004 and Route 121) turn right at the traffic lights, following signs for Mae Rim and Chiang Mai Sports Complex (700 year stadium) Count the bridges over the canal approximately 250 meters apart. You need to turn left at bridge 5, signposted in English and Thai "Star Palace Condominium" First bridge from the traffic lights (a right turn) is just before "The Oak Restaurant" Second bridge (a right turn) is controlled by traffic lights. Before the lights you will see 7/11 on your left and after the lights you will see "Fine Thanks on the Canal" restaurant Third bridge (again a right turn) - just after Diamond Place Condo (in English) on the left, a telephone box, and a soi with signposts to Asian Harm Reduction Unit Fourth bridge is on your left (after a sharp bend in the road takes you over the canal) and leads to Baan Ing Doi (shown in Thai language only - the bridge, leading to this gated community, is painted brilliant white) Fifth bridge, turn left, signposted "Star Palace Condominium". Go straight for 600 meters At T-junction turn right, following signs for Sang Serene House After 300 meters turn right when you see the sign for 'Centre of the Universe" GPS Co-ordinates: Latitude N 18 49.189 Longitude E 98 57.
tangcoral
reviving an old thread, are there any other current places that offer salt water swimming pools to the public?
NancyL
The Centara Duang Tawan hotel has a large salt water pool and it is open to the public if they get a membership in their health club. It's been a few months since I was there, but they used to offer both a monthly and a day rate, in addition to their annual rate. Just be sure to come early in the day. After 3 pm all the tourist hotel guests return from their elephant parks and snake shows and relax by the pool for a while before going out for the night. They aren't a big problem, but their unsupervised kids are. Shouldn't be a big problem this time of year.
