3BB broadband finish their service via T T & T phone lines on Monday 8th Nov.

I was home for a weekend from work last month and 3BB called the wife and 'asked if we wanted a direct connection'. She asks me, I say yes, she tells them and they say they will be over 'within the hour'. They call back a few hours later and say our 'house is too far away'. The following morning as we are preparing to head for the airport, they call her again and say that they can 'do the direct connection now.' I say fine, but I will be away so won't see what they do or check it since the wife doesn't do internet (for which we are truly thankful). The usual routine was for 3BB internet via TT&T phone line to be working when I left but invariably needed f*cking about with to get working each time I returned.

Two weeks later, I return to find this wire that has been routed through the wall and terminated with a standard female RJ45 telecom connector box. I disconnect the phone line from the existing Huawei modem and plugs it into the new connector. Within a few minutes, I have internet that looks just as fast and glitchy as before. So far no complaints. Just did a speed test to a Bangkok server.

Download Speed: 3344 kbps (418 KB/sec transfer rate)

Upload Speed: 691 kbps (86.4 KB/sec transfer rate)

Latency: 109 ms

Is this a nationwide switch from TT&T cabling?

We were switched over from TT@T phone line to the new 3BB cable a few weeks ago in Khon Kaen.

Living in a village the connection is far superior than before.
