Civil Judgment Against Trump Reversed
The appeals court judge had this to say: "Judge David Friedman, in his dissenting opinion in the New York appeals court ruling on August 21, 2025, wrote that New York Attorney General Letitia James’ “ultimate goal was not ‘market hygiene’ … but political hygiene, ending with the derailment of President Trump’s political career and the destruction of his real estate business.” This statement was part of Friedman’s broader argument that James misused New York Executive Law § 63(12) in pursuing the civil fraud case against Trump, asserting that the case lacked a public interest justification since no parties (e.g., banks) suffered financial harm." https://www.courthousenews.com/new-york-appeals-court-tosses-trumps-500-million-civil-fraud-penalty/ -

Depression
My feeling is that depression amongst foreigners resident in Thailand has a lower incidence than the general population in the West. Depression is widespread in the West today, especially, interestingly enough, amongst younger people. Most young people I see in Thailand seem to be having a great time. Amongst us older folks here in Thailand, I also don't see a lot of depression. Plenty of grumpy folks, but full-blown depression? Not so much, at least that's why I think. Just my observations as a regular Joe who doesn't pretend to be able to recognise depression. -

‘It doesn’t matter now if they are children’
I was born in Germany, but I never had a German friend; all my friends are from different countries, and I have been married to a Thai for over 20 years. I have been in OZ for about 40 years and a few years in LOS.
