I have for the last ten ears or so used Bangkok as my software source. The last product I bought was Delphi version 7.

I was a programmer om Australia, Delphi, C,C++ and half a dozen other languages. I brought my IBM taptop with me when I came to Thailand with D7 of course. I have maybe 1000 lines of pascal source but after formatting the drive and installing Windows SE I found I could not install Delphi!!

I bought the last one from Pantip Plaza in BKK but I cannot think of an excuse to go down to get a new copy.

So if anyone is coming North(Chiang Mai or Pai) I would be most grateful,

Thanks,

Hi,

This is just for talking, as I am not a specialist. I even don't know what Windows SE could be ! (Server ?)

Delphi 7 is supposed to run with (minimum configuration)

  • Microsoft Windows 2000 (SP2 or higher)
  • Microsoft Windows XP
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2003
  • Microsoft Windows 98se

I am surprised that you have such problems. My Delphi 5 version went through Windows ME, Windows 2000, Windows XP and is now running under Windows 7-64 bits. As Delphi 7 was the last version of Delphi released by Borland without activation and as Borland does not support Delphi anymore (It is now under Embarcadero), you can download legitimate Personnal Edition (not sure about Professional or Enterprise versions) from many sites. May be you can try it if you have some doubts about your own copy.

It is nice to have someone around using Delphi. Can we stay in touch to exchange some tricks ?
