Meat Thermometer

For several days I have been attempting to locate an instrument that can be found for $2 at any Walmart in the states. Unfortunately, over here, it appears this advanced technology is simply unavailable. The only things I can find are at scientific supply houses on the net, cost over 1000 baht, and must be ordered for delivery within a few weeks.

This is just absurd. Does anyone know of a shop in the Bangkok area that has simple food thermometers in stock, and that I can just go buy?

I've seen them for sale in Villa in the past. Have you also tried the 5th floor of Emporium?

I got mine from True Value. It's worth checking Villa as they stock some things from True Value now and may have thermometers.

I got one at the Central department store by the sky train. It was a digital one for about 700 baht.

I am going out to look for one now. I have one bought in Bangkok that doesn't work. Stick it in boiling water and it shows only 70 degrees C. LOL.
