Unnecessarily provocative labeling of link removed.

It is good to see alternatives, but I found the Pearson practice confusing ( not necessarily difficult ), especially for someone who cannot read any English. As you are aware, the test requirements for the certificate to apply for a settlement visa are for listening and speaking only. Not easy for someone who cannot even read the Pearson instructions to actually carry out the practice.

If only it was as easy as you try to make out, all would be fine. However, applicants are currently failing the test ( as easy as you make it out be ) here in Thailand.

Prospective visa applicants don't seem to deem the Pre-tests as " unnecessary and expensive". In fact they apparently enjoy the seminars, and their confidence levels seem to be boosted.

Regarding the cost of the Pre-test seminars, your views are, I think, well known by now. If free practice tests do the job, then fine. If not, then it is up to the visa applicant to decide whether 1,000 baht is expensive or not. Let's remember that the cost now for a settlement visa is in the region of 40,000 baht ( visa fee and TB test ), and applicants seem to think that the 1,000 Pre-test charge is not excessive for peace of mind, especially if it means that they will save paying out 6,000 Baht for a test that they fail.

If you can come up with a test or a link that requires no reading skills whatsoever, bearing in mind that some applicants, both here and elsewhere in the world, are illiterate, then maybe you will be onto a winner. At the moment, as always, we agree to differ.
