Hi Guys,

I'll be heading to Thailand in a couple months and while over there I plan on taking advantage of cheap shopping there.

One of things i was planning on buying was dvd (movies, series etc.) but I have heard recently that Thai authorities have brought in a law that punishes buyers of pirated DVD's.

Just wondering how much this is enforced and where? Eg. do the thai customs check your bags on the way out or are they relying on local police catching you as you buy the merchandise.

Has anyone had any problems? Or is this one of the laws they've brought in to make them look good but not really enforced.

Im not majorly fussed if I cant buy dvds but id like to if i can.

Although pirated dvd's are readily available, ThaiVisa posting rules include this:

16) Not to post about gambling, betting, pornography, illegal drugs, fake goods/clothing etc and other activities that are officially illegal in Thailand.

Hence,
