A few years ago, I was working in Satun in Southern Thailand.

I needed to do a border run to extend my Visa so I drove on my scooter to the Thai/Malaysian border.

We we aloud to take the Scooters across the border, However they said we could only go so far and had to be back at a certain time.

If the green book is in your name.You can apply for an international transport permit.

through your local land transport office.The cost is 1000 baht.Then you pay a renewal fee annually of 50 baht.

I have used mine to travel to Laos on a number of occasions.
