In Terms Of Process Only -- Is Disbanding Thai Political Parties Wise?

It's easy to get wrapped up in the fervor of dissolving political parties -- when it's the one you don't like -- to clean up dirty Thai politics. But is that concept wise?

Forget about if you favor the Democrat party or the Red Shirts side. What about the concept?

It seems to me that it's a generally destabilizing concept.

I'm thinking of the U.S. and what would happen if we were forced to dissolve the Democratic or Republican parties. Or Great Britain if they were forced to disband the Conservative or Liberal parties.

Your thoughts?

It's a tricky question.

If you believe in democracy, it's absolutely wrong.

But then, when you compare India (the "biggest" democracy in the world) and China, maybe democracy is not an universal answer.

But then again, China has a process to select its leaders to insure mostly competent people reach the top. As Thailand chose the undemocratic way, the real question should be, does Thailand has a process to insure competent people reach the top ?
