December 1, 201015 yr What can one expect to pay for a 1 bedroom or studio apartment in pattaya? If the area is on the expensive side are there better deals nearby? Thanks
December 2, 201015 yr You can pay from a low of 3000B to a high of well over 50,000B. What are you looking? Oceanview? Super cheap? Near Walking Street? Away from Walking Street? Near the baht bus? How long to you want to rent? Big difference between short and long term rentals.
December 2, 201015 yr Here is a sample of various apartments from low to high. There are some exterior pictures of buildings, but I do not think there are any interior shots. =&ar[]=&nl="]My link TheWalkingMan
December 2, 201015 yr Author You can pay from a low of 3000B to a high of well over 50,000B. What are you looking? Oceanview? Super cheap? Near Walking Street? Away from Walking Street? Near the baht bus? How long to you want to rent? Big difference between short and long term rentals. I'm inquiring about a longer stay (3 months to 1 year). My priorities are: 1. Price - I'm not on a tight budget but I do like to save money. I'd like to rent in the 3,000-10,000B range unless quality suffers too much to be worth it. I'll put the limit at 20,000B/mo max 2. Not in a loud area (I work from home and excessive noise is distracting) 3. Reasonably close to the downtown area (not sure of the setup in pattaya yet, I'm doing initial research) Being able to walk to downtown would be very nice 4. Kitchen/ette, onsite laundry, reliable internet access.

For this price you are looking at 12000+ My best advice would be to get on the bike and drive around, going to see the places you like the look of from the outside. Many owners do not use agents or advertise, they simply put a sign for rent either in the lobby or on the balcony. you will find that price for one of those rooms at times 20-40% cheaper then the ones advertised. Just as example for you, Nova Atrium through an agent you be looking at 25 000 -28 000 per month, but if you go and look in the lobby, you will get one for 18 000-20 000 baht. Some ideas for you: KTK residence.
December 3, 201015 yr We rented a room at Vanilla Grande on Soi Rungland, just east of the Pattaya Tai/Sai Sahm intersection a few months back. I think the rate was 8000 baht + utils. They had free wifi as well although I found my own AIS 2G dongle more consistent. There was a hotplate, sink and fridge, flat screen and cable TV included. Hot water shower and no water pressure or drain problems. Quiet neighbours too. All new furnishings, wardrobe, double bed, dining table and chairs. Rungland isn't a major through street so quite quiet and has some nice quiet bars and food shops on the same block. Location is good for getting into S Pattaya; a healthy 20 minute walk or 3 minutes on your scooter. But having easy access to Sai Sahm means you can get across town quite quickly too. Also, you can go south on Rungland to get faster access to Jomtien. We were only there for 1 month so had a 10,000 baht deposit that was refunded when we vacated without debate. We would stay there again.
December 3, 201015 yr Author Thanks for the recommendation, sounds like a great place. I'll see about riding around town on a scooter for some deals as well (or maybe not, as I've heard traffic is very dangerous in LOS)
December 6, 201015 yr When I go to Pattaya. I see places costing as low as 3,500 thb a month, but you have to search and ask some of your Thai friends.
