Thank you for your time and consideration...

I have one

How much you give me?

It's a Titanium G4 with 667MHZ (top of the range!)

:)

It's all working. The machine is in Pai. The reason I haven't sold it is that it's hardly worth selling if you can't get any money for it. Up until recently I also used it for visitors so they can check their email etc.

It looks horrible, as all the paint around the (painted) border has come off. "road warrior" looks.

Anyway make an offer and if it's worth the hassle its yours.

May I ask why you want to "boot off your favorite HD"? You can get all the data off that HD many other, perhaps, better ways. Migration assistant if you buy any new mac will restore your entire system from that HD - your data, desktop, settings, all are preserved.

You can also hook it up and just copy stuff you want.

I cannot make you a good faith offer without seeing if it will fit my need...

I have all my fa favorite apps from OSX 10.3.9 that is the last version that supports OS9.2.2 and Adobe PageMaker 7. I have to apply for my retirement visa Tuesday or Wednesday and once its approved I'll have a much more free time..what part of town are you in?

I can find many MacBook/Pros n e-bay in the $250-$400 (7500-12,000 Bath) range withe higher priced ones having 1-1.6GHz and 30-day guarantees to work but no one will ship to Thailand that I can find so far

The amount of RAM and size of harddrive make a difference to in what I can offer. What OS version are you running on it? I've already had the old tower's hardive in a USB casing looked at Tukom Apple store and all S/W is showing but I haven't been able to boot it so if we get a chance to get together I'll bring it and see if it boots the laptop? Eh?

LMK, thanks for the reply...

Ok... wanting to run OS 9 I guess is a reason to get an old system - still personally I think probably not worth the trouble... isn't there a replacement for PageMaker?

I am in Chiang Mai and would need to get the PowerBook from Pai. 667MHz and 512MB RAM. Woo-hoo :) I don't know - I think it's too slow for doing serious stuff though considering when PageMaker came out that might still run OK. 60GB HD which I put in at some point.

Condition: Function 10/10; Looks 1/10. It's all working but the color coming off the bezel looks horrible, and it's coming off all the painted parts. No DVD burner, only CD and DVD reading, makes lots of noise but works.

I'd actually recommend getting a newer model if you want to work on it every day. A desktop, preferably, as those are more sturdy and last longer. The G5 towers last forever, for example, iMacs were holding up pretty well too.

Oh in my personal experience, stay away from the 1.67GHz PPC PowerBooks. I sold one of these to a friend and he ended up having lots of trouble with it. 1.67GHz is more than the G4 spec allows, and they hacked the bus speed too, so it's extremely finicky with the RAM, and things tend to break. If you get a PowerBook make sure it's 1.5Ghz or slower.

Hmm... come to think of it, I might have a 12" iBook G4 1.33 GHz PERFECT condition for sale soon when I get the lady a new one. She's hardly ever used it - something like 1x per month to change the music on the iPod. Interested in that? It might work well if hooked up to an external monitor as 12" is clearly too small for PageMaker. Wasn't planning on selling it now but if you want it, I could put the money towards upgrading her to an Air.

Thanks for the follow-up and bug experiences with the other models but being in up Chiang Mai is a deal-killer for me, looks like I'll maybe find one on e-bay delivered to a friend then have friend ship it to me...actually I'm much better with PhotoShop than I am with PageMaker but Adobe rolled all of their best software in to a mutimedia monster suite of software a few years back and I wasn't willing to upgrade all over again including the machine so I'm happy with what I know works for me...

Thanks again, take care...MTM

I have a G4 1.25 GHz 1.25 GB 80 GB HD 15 Inch Titanium (Vintage 2004) very alive, apart from the battery that is not on full capacity anymore.

Only possible problem for you might be a German Keyboard (Means that Z and Y switch places, some characters like ,./? are on different locations, and you have three "Umlaut" Keys that you will most likely have no use for ...)

Check is possible in Pattaya (where I live) as well as Bangkok (I am there every month or so for a few days).

PM me if interested!
