You talk about going into a buyer's meeting and not saying the FDA is bunk ... if you look at the websites of many large cap natural foods companies and at their promo literature you will see that they do just that in fact they quote the research of persons like Mercola and the Weston-Price Foundation ... particularly as it relates to saturated fats ... it maybe gets them into the natural foods section but they will not crack the mainstream shelves.

Dr. Mercola quotes on his website Sugar Increases Polio Risk -- Lessons For Other Viral Infections ...

BTW for sugars have you considered using palm sugar or stevia blend both of which are grown in Thailand ... ?

... if you want some credible alternative research try these folks who have no problem going up against the FDA and big agra / pharma: http://www.cspinet.org/ --

http://www.cspinet.o...0foods_bad.html

1) You do realize that Mercola never said that "Sugar Increases Polio Risks." That was the title of a paper Benjamin Sandler, M.D., which was published back in 1951. He was referencing the article.

2) The comments on his website as far as saturated fats being healthy are from Mary Enig's (PhD) research, and are backed up with very over 15 research studies that emphasize the difference between medium chain saturated fatty acids and other saturated fatty acids.

3) Mercola was never censured by the FDA. He was warned not to state that supplements can make any health claims. The FDA only allows health claims for approved "drugs" to make that claim, which has never been backed up by any science. It is merely a rule that was imposed by the FDA that any supplements (since they are not approved by the FDA) cannot make health claims. Luckily the FDA let us know how healthy VIOXX was before it killed over 50,000 people.

I also find it a bit humorous that you blast Dr. Mercola for his recommendations, but here you are telling other message board members your recommendation on palm sugar and stevia. Sir, could we hear your medical credentials?

I said #28 -- I am not a scientist

Mercola received warning letters from the FDA ... censored was maybe my word and so what?

I have read of Dr. Enig's research as they are they prime source of position papers by Weston-Price who I mention on post # 26 ... so what. They are not mainstream and my discussions regarding how to market or not market a natural / organic food product by suggesting that all the accepted -- even if wrong -- technical information is bunk. (#26)

Post # 26 I wrote : BTW for sugars have you considered using palm sugar or stevia blend both of which are grown in Thailand ... ? -- They are both grown locally and I recommended nothing.

Nice that your post #2 is humorous as well.

The fact is that warning letters and censoring have completely different meanings. Warning letters are often sent out by the FDA to entire communities. Censoring is much more severe and implies guilt. Huge difference. It is not that the FDA is saying that supplements can't cure you of an illness. What they are saying is that you are not allowed to state that. Again, no implied guilt.

I had no idea that you had to be mainstream to provide research papers. At least you got post #28 correct. You are not a scientist to make a statement like that. Research is research and the science is what makes it legitimate. The research on VIOXX being safe was funded by the largest pharmaceutical company and at a cost of close to $2B. Of course, the research failed to disclose that the drug could be fatal in a high percentage of cases, but it is mainstream.

I did not see where you mentioned item #1 where you simply stated a fact that is not true: Dr. Mercola quotes on his website Sugar Increases Polio Risk -- Lessons For Other Viral Infections

He never said that. It would have taken just one minute to determine that fact, if you did anything more than look at the title of the article. The next sentence explains that is from Sandler's paper. You are lying and you don't have the integrity to admit it..

At least my three posts have not been a list of inaccuracies and lies.

You are lying and you don't have the integrity to admit it.. There is no ThaiVisa forum rule that prevents me from lying ... and you are right: I have no integrity.

Next time the FDA issues an order I guess anyone like Mercola or some snake-oil peddler can say: 'You screwed up on VIOXX so I do not recognizer the validity of said order' and see how far that gets you.
