Filling Out The Form

Recommended Posts

Before I start I would just like to say this forum is invaluable...well done.

Just a quick question

I am going to apply for a None Imigrant O Visa from the Thai Embassy Hull, I was in Thailand earlier this year for 3 months and would like to come and live there, I am 45 years of age so still got 5 years to retirement.

I have a Girlfriend and we have remained in contact with eachother almost everyday from I got home in May, so my reason basically for my visit is to come and see her

The Visa form is fine except for one little part, here is the question on the form

--Evidence substantiating purpose of visit (Non-Immigrant only)--

Has anyone any idea what I should put here, if I'm visiting my girlfriend what evidence can I provide ?

Thanks in advance

The "Evidence substantiating purpose of visit" in your case would be a certifcate of guarantee....  a sample can be found HERE (pdf)

You can PM me for more help if you like as I have done the same..

totster  :o

As Tots says you/ll need a letter of guarantee this can be completed by anyone in the UK (mother etc) all the forms are downloadable from The Hull Thai Consulate website including a relatively new one that indicates how you are paying.........dead easy.

Turnaround time including postage 3-5 days max.

Edit..........reason for visit box "visiting family and friends"

OK I understand now and thanks for clearing that one up for me, letter of guarantee is no problem, never thought at the age of 45 I'd be asking my dad again :o

common sense doesn't seem to be one of kid's strong suits....[
Guys I think the post say's IF IN THE STATES DENVER

These are PM's Rec'd Asking me to keep the Fact That the Denver Consual was handing out the 1 year O with out any problems Seems these guys want to take the advise from the board and not share it

This no doubt is a 'bending' of the rules to its fullest extent.I have been using this for the last three years and am about to apply for my 4th.I have PM'd about 7 people on this board during this time with this imfo when it has arisen. Please consider using this route as well .If it stops, loads of people in UK and it looks like USA as well might loose this 'priviledge' I found this out by checking Consular websites very few offer this option.Don't spoil it for the many.Use the PM option.

This is from a board member that has gotten 3 looking to get his 4th but does not want me to post it on the open board cause it might hurt his chances ? I think it better to help all sorry guys.

Hi,

Congratulations on your visa.

Now, don't take this the wrong way, but it's not something you want to publicize on thaivisa. The reason being is as a public forum anyone reads this, Thai Immigration included.

If they are seeing Denver as an "easy mark" for people to get 1 year visas, they'll get it changed and not let anyone use it.

Certainly, visas are a hassle if you don't meet their limited availability and that getting a non-O unless you are married or retired is very difficult and only available at a few consulates.

If they get advertised, over-publicized and over-used, that option too disappears.

Again, it's great that you got yours there (so did I), but try to "keep it under your hat".... mums the word

Welcome to Thailand

This second PM seems to say great you got yours but let's not tell any others. :o

I will continue to help by posting Contact's Ect Ect to anyone that ask's as I was under the impression that this was a board of members helping Members and not trying to hide thinks that could help others Mod's if I am out of line please let me know

Thanks

Kid..........my own feelings are that this topic has had 327 views up to now (including repeat views of course) by the time you weed out those viewers are married/over 50 on Tourist Visas etc then deduct all those non US citizens the amount who would end up applying to Denver for a Non Imm O for visiting family are negligible and i dont think would influence the Consulates policy one bit........IMO.

One more thing Kid my previous post was an attempt albeit feeble at humour.............. i wont be giving up my day job in a hurry. :o

It's ok, it's clearly obvious you're simply not able to see the big picture, but that's not unusual for newbies...
