Hey I'm very much considering a vacation to Bangkok and Pattaya.But I would like to hang out with people that will help me from getting scamed or taken advantage of.. Does any body have any suggestions. . I'm coming from Boston Mass. I would like to stay for 3 weeks.

I've traveled all over the world, and been scammed all over the world. Even though I am very knowledgeable! It happens.

The scams here tend to be pretty harmless. Jet ski rental seems to be one of the worst. Gem scams are also pretty wide spread.

Google "Thailand scams" and you will see a lot of info about this. If you are planning to walk on the "wild" side, there are other forums more appropriate for that. But in general, keep your money in your pocket and you will be fine. Most scams tend to happen in Bangkok and Pattaya...have fun, enjoy and don't spend like a fool!

Stay in reasonabl hotels that are safe, cost apprx 1000 Baht. Keep valuables safe at all times. Dont trust anyone!!! no matter how friendly they seem or how much they smile....you should be OK...of course taxis etc will sometimes overcharge and bartering in shops/markets you may pay more than you could get the item for but thats not really being scammed.....Thailand is a safe place, just be aware as you would when you are at home......some of the larger air con bars in BKK are good places to hook up with ExPats or other tourists

Thailand is a very easy going and safe country. Common travellers knowledge will keep you away from getting scammed. You do not need another's help. Young beautiful females from all over the Western world travel here without any problems at all. Just don't trust everyone and if something seems to be fishy or extraordinary expensive avoid that.

I am here 25 years and never got scammed except maybe for a handful of Baths here and there sometimes. But that I would not consider worth to mention at all.

the bigger the smile ,they give you.

the longer the karrrrrrrrrrr

the more they appear to be interested in you ,

he/she can make you think , you are the best thing since sliced bread .

THE MORE LIKELY THEY ARE TO SCAM / ROB / CHEAT YOU .

When in Pattaya, stop by Tropical Bert's. A few of us are often in there....and don't forget to do a post if you plan to be there and ring the bell! I know Raro and I will be there for sure!!!
