Mae Sapok Nursery School Donation

Mae Sapok school is a very small nursery school located in the mountains northwest of Mae Win (Hwy 1013). There are 44 children ranging in age from 2-6 years old.

They have requested school materials, floor mats, sweaters, and even Shampoo, soap and toothpaste for the children. CMTR has purchased these and other items, and of course toys for the kids.

We will visit this school, play some games and share some snacks with the kids and staff.

For those that wish to continue; we will later ride approximately 15 km more where we will deliver similar items to the Huay E-Khang nursery school.

The Hauy E-Khang location is not much more than a shack. Be prepared for a little "culture shock" at this location. The teacher is responsible for the care of 15 kids, 2-4 years old. They need baby sleeping mats and pillows, toiletries, fresh milk and even plastic cups. We will also give them educational materials, a TV & CD Player and other items.

We will depart Richco Motorsports (Harley Davidson) at 9:30AM. Wualai Rd, Soi 3. If you are not familiar with the location you can go on the CMTR website map page. Click for larger view, and click Richco motorsports.

Please join us for this event. You need not bring anything except a smile, as all the items have already been purchased with funds from our donors and sponsors. However, if you wish to contribute, donations are always accepted. I think if anyone has some small children's clothes or blankets they may wish to give to the kids, it would be quite welcome.

We hope to see you on Friday, 17 Dec 2010. And remember our main Chiang Mai ToyRide and Party on 20 February 2011.

Rain and cold weather didn't deter this event.

"The riders left wet and cold for a 70km ride back home. But it didn't matter. We knew that some 60 children would sleep tonight with full stomachs, warm blankets, new clothes, and cuddling with a new toy. Join us next time!"

Please visit Chiang Mai ToyRide Past Events for a report and photos.

Tip of the hat and click of the heels to you lads for making such good deeds, the riders method of "tam bun", making merit. I have been visiting my wife's relatives in Mae Sapok for decades and know that your efforts are well appreciated. And if any of you speak Thai and want to meet a nice, beautiful, somewhat conservative single 45 year old woman in Mae Sapok, well I will be back next year and can arrange to make an introduction. It would be worth the extended courting time such women require to make the first date. Again congratulations and kudos for taking the time and effort to do good deeds for good people in need.
