Wacom Intuos4 Availability In Los

Featured Replies

Hi all.

I am trying to decide if I need to bring an Intuos4 Wacom tablet with me when I relocate to LOS or if I can get one there. I am pretty sure I can get it there since there is a Wacom Thailand page but, alas, it is in Thai. If it is available there, do I need to pick it up in BKK or can I get one locally in Chiang Mai? I prefer to support local businesses, if possible. And, of course, a ball park estimate on the local price would be helpful. I'm looking for the medium sized tablet.

Thanks

David

Nearly all computer stuff is more expensive here even if you can get it.

There is the tendency of Thai shops to NOT carry the top models within many product lines because they don't sell enough of them. If they're a good distributor they'll often offer to order in what you want, but it will be at full retail with a 45-60 day wait. Another scenario.. is they stock the product, but 6-12 months after it's available in other countries.

I brought my Intous3 with me five years ago.. it's still working fine. Its not the type of product I'd worry much over warranty. If you can get it there and bring it, you'll do okay.

Its possible to build a very state of the art computer here.. I do it for clients every month or two. But there will be a 15-20% premium over stateside prices on average and you won't have the wide selection of parts.

Thanks for the information all. I think I will end up bringing it with me. I can get the medium Bluetooth Intuos4 for about $390.00. Way below the best price I saw for the USB version available in LOS.
