Does Thailand have it's own FBI or CIA or other type of "under cover" agents? I'm trying to explain the concept to a Thai person.

DSI = FBI

CIA (ซีไอเอ) is pronounced the same English/Thai and generally understood. I believe สอดแนม (verb) means to spy and นักสืบ (noun) a spy. But suspect Thailand has no CIA equivalent in the form of an agency as it is for foreign operations. Suspect Bina's comments about a military arm is where those type of operations are handled.

หน่วยสืบราชการลับ, สายสืบ, สายลับ

or in history movie หน่วยเสือปลาแมวเซา
