Work Permit/Visa For Dj

Featured Replies

Hi. I have been thinking about trying to get some dj work in thailand. (presently in uk). What's the score with work permits and relevant visas?. I've seen plenty of westerners dj'ing at clubs and bars, is it possible to do dj'ing legitimately or is everyone moonlighting? If coming from the uk to look for work which visa would be the best to get first? If dj'ing is only possible without a work permit is it safe to do?, do the bars pay off the plod not to interfere? or can you expect at visit from immigration at some point. What about all the big international dj's who come here to spin - are they legit?

Any info from you wise tv people would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

They can get a visa and a work permit. The visa is on invitation of an prospective employer and the work permit it of course also through the employer.

The work permit ties you to an employer. New job means new work permit

See 2.17.

The few musicians/dj's I know have their work permits with music/entertainment agencies -- not from the actual venue where they happen to be appearing at any one time.
