Hi

1 male, 1 female, British.

We are flying into Bangkok this Friday (31/12/10). I am staying in Bangkok for 4 nights before flying to Koh Samui for 7 days and then returning to Bangkok. Flights for this are booked.

We have a round the world ticket but our next 'proof' of a flight is from Singapore to Sydney on the 28th January.

We have no visas as I thought we would be fine as we are staying in Thailand for less than 30 days.

Is it best to book a flight from Bangkok to Vietnam (our proposed next destination before getting to SIngapore) ready for when we return from Koh Samui?

Thanks!

Your problem, if any, will be with the airline. The rules require an onward ticket within 30 days if you don't have a visa for Thailand. Thai immigration will not be a problem, you will get a 30 day visa exempt entry stamp. Buy a cheap ticket to your next destination, Bangkok - Vietnam, just to keep everybody happy.

Which airline? My Quantas flight from Heathrow to Bangkok? When you say problem with the airline - what would this be - they would not let us board the flight @ Heathrow?

1. Yup, Quantis could deny you boarding without a visa or onward ticket from Thailand within 30 days.

2. Bangkok - Vietnam, any airline will be ok.

Correct - you will not be allowed to board your flight but if you are holding a round the world ticket with that airline expect you may not have a problem as in effect believe you could fly Bangkok-Sydney if you wanted. Call the airline (although you can never depend on them) but you could always buy a ticket at airport if a problem (to Malaysia or Singapore and you could thus use it).
