30 Day Entry Stamp

Featured Replies

Hi all, please could somebody help.

Is it possible to extend my 30 day entry stamp by a further 6 days? Im currently in Bangkok.

If so how and where would I have to go?

Thank you so much.

You can get a 7 day extension provided you have a ticket out within those 7 days.

Visit immigration at Chaeng Wattana, cost 1,900 Baht plus a photo.

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

If you have a ticket out visit the immigration office (Chiang Watanna, Soi 7) as they will normally allow 7 days for normal TM.7/photo/1,900 baht fee. Or if plan a trip close to border a quick crossing/return would get a 15 day visa exempt stamp.

Be aware Immigration will be closed from Friday until Tuesday for the New Year holiday.

Just one more question, Is it ok to extend before entry stamp has expired?

Yes, do it before the expiration, you won't lose any days.

Can anyone with recent experience confirm that a 7 day extension of stay will be from end of current permitted to stay?

For the normally authorized extensions of stay they will start at end of current permitted to stay and should be done early.

Not really recent, but I got a 7 day "non extension" last year at the end of August, which started from the end of my then current permission to stay.

OK that should be recent enough. Thanks. I do recall years ago them starting on day of application. First time one year extensions of stay also were from date of application in those days and that changed a few years ago to the end of current permitted to stay.
