Browsers 2010: The Year in Review

Google, Microsoft, Apple, Mozilla and Opera all were busy in 2010 with browser development as HTML 5 took center stage.

The Chrome browser is also at the core of Google's Chrome OS, which received a preview release during 2010 and is expected to become generally available in 2011.

Prediction: Chome OS Will Perish Or "Merge" With Android

I wouldn't bet against that, that's for sure. Chrome OS will be alive as long as Google keeps it on life support but one has to wonder what its place is in 2010 - is it just a more user friendly Linux?

The Chrome browser, on the other hand, is great. Firefox seems to have lost its way a little bit - it looks like a much less polished product right now compared with Chrome or Safari (Mac - haven't tried the Windows version in ages but I doubt it's getting much attention).
