Extending Tourist Visa 30Days

Featured Replies

Is an onward air ticket needed to extend a TV in Bangkok by 30 days? The TV was obtained in Singapore and needed proof of sufficient funds at time in lieu of an onward air ticket. Person concerned still has more than enough funds in a Thai bank.

not needed

As said, for the extension of a tourist visa with 30 days a ticket out is not needed.

Ok thanks. My friend was told by visa agent it was needed, I'll tell him to find another agent or go himself.

Does he really have a tourist visa, with an entry of 60 days or did ttravel without a visa and got 30 days at the airport on a visa exempt entry? The last is often confused with a tourist visa. But a visa exempt entry cannot be extended by 30 days, 7 days at the most and would require a ticket out within those 7 days at most immigration offices.

Yes, was a real TV as stated in op. He got it from Singapore embassy for a 60 day visit. Canadian pp. Guy was so busy he wanted agent to get extension, I said cheaper to do by self and no air ticket needed I thought. I think the agent is wrong based on my past experience and your replies here. Thanks.
