Woman faces charges for using Thai flag on porn site

The Thai government has announced plans to charge a British woman for using an image of the Thai flag on her porn website.

The Thai Prime Minister's secretary, Yongyuth Sarasombat, said the use of the flag was an insult and tarnished the country's image.

According to the Bangkok Post, no further details were released about the website except it described Bangkok as a "city of sex".

The government is attempting to bring charges against the woman, who hasn't been named, under the National Flag Law and the Criminal Law.

The first carries a fine of just under £30, and one year in prison, and the second carries double the fine and a three year prison sentence.

Thai legal expert and senator, Kaewsan Atipho said she would probably evade prosecution if she didn't enter Thailand, as Britain was unlikely to extradite her on such a minor charge.
