What's Up With This?

We are looking forward to our grand adventure in Bkk, CM, Samui and Pukett soon. A friend of ours who has visited Thailand several times (on pre retirement explorations) has told my husband of some pretty wierd happenings...and cautioned us about allowing our son 10 yrs old to enter any public restroom alone. He said, he has been approched by young boys who offered oral sex in theses restrooms and has seen this sort of thing happening in and around areas of Thailand. Our children (10 &15) are Asian and very beautiful inside and out, open and naive. He seems to think that we need to keep them close by our side so they aren't exposed to this kind of shocking activities. Or, some girleyboy's or prostitute advances. Is this true? :o

Dont know where ya holla from, but i feel safer here than in my home town, like every where i guess due care, common sense and vigulance( spelt wrong i know) are the key, whether your in thailand or london

I've lived in Thailand a very long time, and have never had any experiences like these. I think that as long as your children don't go into any areas that are selling sex to Westerners- for example, a Go-Go bar - they would not be bothered. However, if you are in a tourist area with lots of prostitutes, such as Patong beach or around Pattaya, your children might get a lot of attention from admiring Thais who find them "nah-lock" (lovely), but the attention will, most likely, be without sexual overtones. :o

Pee pee before you leave your hotel Dear/chap. that way your worries fade.. Sounds a bit of an advanced scout story for a single traveller to me. !!

no one in there right mind would ask that sort of thing. you need help...

But have no fear...The law's here can hang em high on the death penalty....or put em away for 50 years for that....

Havent heard that happening ever, but then again I dont hang around small boys!

Farang kids in Thailand are treated quite special in the nicer sence of the word, from what I have seen - relax and dont give it a second thought!

OH PLEASE !

I can't keep silent in the face of such obvious tomfoolery. Some joker just wants to have a mischievous chat about importuning little boys in public lavvies.

So................... I shall take the bait.....

Yes, people need to be vigilant whilst on the crapper in Thailand.

Of course Thailand specialises in the "squatty bog". Many is the time that the Moog, in mid-squat has lost a mobile phone down the pan.

I recall being on the ferry to Ko Samui and the door to the ladies was open. There -on the squatty bog, was a tiny tot, perched like Lester Piggott above the bowl. Dangling between her legs was a huge turd. It must have been a good eighteen inches long.

This is a true story. The image is still in my mind's eye. God knows how people get kicks from spying these things.
