hi

i've been living in thailand for over a year and my non immigrant (o) 1 year visa expired in september 2010. i am 38 and am here for health reasons- the consulate in birmingham issued my original visa after my parents wrote a letter guaranteeing they'd cover all my expenses. is it possible to apply now for a new visa or do i need to wait before re-applying? i am in bangkok now so i assume i'd have to apply for a visa in another country.

also, does anyone know how long it takes the thai consulate in myanmar to process tourist/ non immigrant visas?

thankyou

You will not get a non immigrant visa in south east Asia.

Only valid reasons is marriage, retirement(over 50), education or business.

It also seems that you are on overstay and must pay 500 baht/day or the maximum fine of 20.000 baht.

Issue of a tourist visa at a consulate normally takes over night.

Had in application before lunch, get back next day after lunch.

Thai consulate in Burma, no idea, better go Vientiane in Laos that will issue a double entry tourist visa.

thanks. i have been travelling around asia since september so i'm not overstaying. when i came back to bkk today, the immigration man at the airport suggested i get another non immigrant visa and i just wanted to see if anyone had already done this.

the thai consulate in sri lanka is 4 days and i was afraid burma is the same. i'll go to laos instead.

thanks.
