I'm about to begin an install of free-bsd 5.4 to have a taste of it, and may be adopt it for all network works ... always ready to chage for a better :o

does anyone use free-bsd here? (except cndvic of course)

btw, cndvic, any tips for a clean install?

based: pc PIII 800EB, 512mbsdram pc133, Gforce4 Mx440, sound on MB.

nothing fancy inside :D , cdrom and cdburner liteon.

just attached an old ZIP100 on usb.

I ran the Free-bsd on older system, the only problem I had was some minor keyboard emulations. I looked up the old link, for some help. This is where I found the most useful information.

Oh on installation make sure you have all the "drivers" handy for your hardware. Stopping in the middle of something is a pain. That older system was a 486, so you may not even need those extra drivers… :D

thanks meelousee, but got all the install guide already :o

I was looking more about tips from someone who did a recent install on "quite" recent hardware, nothing fancy as I said :D

I think that anyway I got to download the nvidia video driver.
