Who. Police Colonel Nantawoot, the Chief of Pattaya Police led the operation on Thursday Night, which was held in cooperation with the Pattaya branch of the Narcotics Suppression Bureau. (how many cops?)

What. Every entertainment venue along the street was checked and 10 employees suspected of using illegal drugs were arrested. In an INTERNET shop. (Not every venue! No way this happened. Did you send a reporter to check?) What happened to the customers?

Where. Soi 13/2 located off Pattaya Beach. (Good job)

When. What time? This is probably the biggest flaw in the story. Depending on the time one can determine the impact of the police action. Without the time the rest of the story is meaningless. If it was 3 in the afternoon or 4 in the morning what would have happened? This is not rocket science. A phone call probably would have given your newspaper the time of the raid.

Why. Chinese NY coming up. Are you sure? Did anybody ask? How much advance notice did the bar owners have? Did they have any?

A bunch of cops made the arrest. OK, how many cops? How many people thrown in jail. How many people fined and how much? Were any owners of the bars arrested? Were any bars closed? How long did it take the bars to re open?

5 W's and an H. They are not discretionary. They are mandatory and the minimum for each and every news story even in Pattaya.
