dddave
I recently bought a nice wedge of Gouda and was rationing it sparingly. I was away for a few days and when I returned, it had mold on all sides. I had stored it in the fridge wrapped in plastic wrap. What are the best ways to store cheese? smokie36
Wrap it in paper first...then in an airtight container....and keep in the fridge. Avoid plastic. You can always cut off the mould and still eat the rest though....
JWJ
A vacuum packaging machine? A long time ago I had one. Think it was called Seal a Meal. Really worked.

Kilgore Trout
Clearly a cheese cloth is the best option, you can always wrap it in a paper towel and put in a ziplock bag, that helps too
Michaelaway
Zip lock bag with the air squeezed out, placed in the chiller bin of the frig, will last for quite a while, mold-free.
unblocktheplanet
In Thailand, the only safe place for expensive cheese is in the the FREEZER, well wrapped. It just takes some advance planning to take it out, overnight in the fridge, then ready to eat. After use, refreeze! ELCata
During the great fire of London, Samuel Peeps buried his cheese in his garden. Should I help to put out the fire? fuc_k no, save the cheese!
HeavyDrinker
How long did you have the cheese for??? I wrap mine tightly in clingfilm and never have a problem.
