Computer Taking Long Time To Boot!

Featured Replies

Soluto Free will look at what is booting when you start your computer and present you with a list divided into three sections. Programs you can safely remove from boot, programs you choose to boot or not and Required boot programs that that cannot be removed.

Soluto tells you how long each program takes to boot so you can see why your computer takes so long to get started.

Great program in Beta with friendly feed back option so you can contribute to the the programs development (if you want)

:D

my problem was not with the time it took to boot but rather the time required before I could access my Start button; Windows update was the culprit

About 6 months ago my computer started to get slower and slower, not only at responding to normal commands, but also took what seemed like an eternity to start up and shut down. It eventually packed up altogether. The problem wasn't the programmes; the motherboard was 12 years old and life expired. I had it replaced. Now my computer is lightning fast, and starts and shuts down in about a minute every time. But I will try the Soluto Free link just out of interest.

Good find, thanks very much,

This will be a handy utility to use periodically.

Another good tool is "Startup Delayer".

Similar to Soluto, except:

- Startup Delayer gives you more control over the delay in programs starting.

- Soluto gives more information on the time your computer takes to startup.

I have used Startup Delayer for ages, and started using Soluto yesterday. They both appear to be similar in results.

Thanks Daffy D.,

I did as you suggested and I like the results. Initially however I have "problems" which included not being able to use my printer. I deleted the initial download and starter over. The second time everything went smoothly and my printer works :-) Now if I could only find out what is slowing down my music. Any ideas? But ironically I went to youtube and listened to a song w/ not problem????

cheers
