Looking For Health Insurance For A 16 Year Old Boy

Featured Replies

My stepson will move back to Thailand in July. We won´t support him financially, except that I want him to have good healthcare. What can you suggest for him that I can pay from overseas? How much will it cost and what will it cover? THX

I'm sorry but I find your logic a bit confusing  You say you won't be supporting him financially ? Yet want to make sure he has insurance for a motorbike ? Why would you even consider sending a boy back here without proper financial care in place or am I mmissing something here ? :o Just what is a 16 year old boy to live on ? :o

:sorry:

I don't believe he's legally allowed to drive anything over a 110 CC motorbike at the age of 16.

I was asking for health insurance ! Of course he will have a home and food, just no cash. Please don´t ask any further.

There are many local insurance companies here and at his age and if limited to hospitalization cover, premium would be low. Suggest hyou check out the website of BUPA Thailand to get an idea of rates and I imagine you can arrange to pay by credit card or bank transfer.

Major advantage of BUPA is that it is well known and widely used, most hospitals will bill them directly so easy for your stepson to use. I have heard that some other foreign based insurance packages may offer better cover but have the imoression these often are more complicated to use i.e. might have to pay first then seek reimbursement, for a young boy user-friendly may be important.

It sounds as though the poster wants to make sure the medical insurance will cover his stepson on the back of a motorcycle taxi.

There are various plans available both Thai and foreign, and as we have said before, the only way is to find out the individuals exact needs is by means of a one to one dialogue which can be done via the internet. Should you wish for on-line quotes from various providers please go HERE
