One still missing after natural gas plant explosion in Texas

HOUSTON, TEXAS (BNO NEWS) -- One person remains missing after Tuesday's explosion and fire at a natural gas plant outside of Houston, Texas, local media reported Wednesday.

Tuesday's explosion occurred shortly after 12 p.m. local time at Enterprise Products, which is located in Mont Belvieu, Texas, around 35 miles east of Houston, but relief crews were able to put the fire out later that night.

No injuries were reported, as all but one worker were able to exit safely.

Rick Shaw, 43, who is a maintenance contract worker employed by Turner Industries, was confirmed unaccounted for by his company, but his family is upset due to the lack of answers from the company, ABC's local TV reported.

The cause of the incident is still unclear, but for many hours, company officials remained worried and uncertain whether the fire was being fed by gas products stored in underground caverns.

According to law, investigations may officially continue for up to six months.
